July & August

Life has been so crazy lately! I haven't had a second to blog about July so this entry is going to be for July and August :)

July 2nd was Lacey Baird's wedding. Lacey bug is one of my best friends and has always been so understanding and sweet. We have been friends for 2 and 1/2 years now and she has always been supportive through thick and thin. We had been planning on attending her wedding since she was engaged a few months back. Unfortunately, Finances were tighter on us than we had anticipated and I had to tell Lacey that we wouldn't be making it up to Orem for the wedding. Of course she wasn't about to take no for an answer! So, since Brooks had to stay behind in St. George to work, I bummed a ride with Lacey's awesome Dad and Step-people. It wasn't awkward for one second because they are all so outgoing and fun. I am so grateful for their hospitality and their willingness to be squished in the car with me. They were so nice! (Thanks to Joe, Tara, Maddi and Rachel if you're reading) I stayed the first night with Lacey and Ammon at their apartment together and the second night at Lacey's Grandma's house. The wedding was in Lacey's Grandma Baird's backyard. It has so many flowers and trees and it is enormous! I absolutely loved it. The wedding and reception were one after the other in the evening and the weather was warm and sunny. Lacey was a beautiful bride and the day could not have been more perfect! Ammon and Lacey live happily ever after with Ammon's children from a previous marriage, Rykert and Lilly. It was an emotional and amazing thing to see her beginning a new life with someone and know she is happy beyond measure. (love you lace)

July 3rd was the fourth of July in Southern Utah because the fourth fell on a Sunday. We went down to the SunBowl and watched the "country showdown" and the fireworks coordinated to patriotic music with our friends Zach and Liz.

On July 4th Alexis was induced to have her baby finally. Alexis is our best friend and the one who we can thank for introducing us. I have known her for 5 years and Brooks has known her for about 3 years. We went to go see her about two hours after she had her little girl, Mia Michele Martinez! She is so cute and cuddly and such a good baby. She is now 6 weeks old and can hold up her own head just like a superbaby!

On July 27th Kelsey Jade Duffy was born! She is the second baby girl for my our good friends Zach and Liz Duffy. We went to see her when she was about a day old. She is so gorgeous and sweet. Erica is such a good big sister and loves to help out :)

In mid-July I finally ordered my big surprise! A vinyl cutter. It is a monster and can handle a big workload. My dad and I are part owners in this and couldn't be more excited. He has let me rent out space in his shop where he owns a business so I have my own desk and worktable. I am applying my first "real" job on Saturday. It will be a company logo and info on back window for a truck. We also bought a graphic design tablet which is also very exciting. It will open up a ton of design options and make designing a simpler process. I specialize in vehicle graphics and lettering, custom graphics & decorative wall art but I can do virtually anything. It is going great so far and its definitely keeping me busy with my first job as a nanny still in place. I'll have to keep you all updated with my new designs and creations. Here are some photos of my homemade cutting table (my dad and I made it), Vinyl cutter & my first paying job! If you'd like me to make something for you please don't hesitate to email me! This month is going by so fast with Brooks and I both working our butts off. We went to the County fair on August 14th for the demolition derby and then went to Formula Drift in Vegas on August 22nd. Both were so fun:) We love cars!!

One of the children I nanny (Ryann) is back in school so I'll only be seeing her on Fridays for a few hours, when I pick her up from the bus stop and on school holidays. I miss her because she kept me on my toes and entertained Jase and I alot more. Now days its very quiet and clean.

My little brother Clancy is back in school (7th grade) and the football season is starting up again so he is practicing hard and getting back in tip top shape. He is playing for Youth Football USA on the Desert Hills team! I'm so proud of him.. I don't even think he knows! My "big little" brother Jared is busy working and dating (yikes!) no matter how much taller he is than me I still don't approve of him dating. These girls better watch their backs if they hurt my lil brother!! My sister Chante is working at BK and taking care of my niece and her step-daughter. I don't see much of her but when I do its always good. I love hanging out with her and girl talking. my niece is growing like a weed! She is six months old today. I cannot believe how big she is getting! She is going to start crawling soon haha! My mom and dad are broken up now and they both seem to be doing okay. I am still very close to both of them and love them both the same. My mom is looking for a new place with my sister and her family. My husband and I are contemplating moving in with my dad and brothers after my mom moves out but we will see how that plays out..

Its time for me to go to sleep so here are the latest photos of our beautiful niece Amariah:)
