The month of May

We've had no problem keeping busy this month. I've been working two or more days per week nannying for my dad's friend Jodi. She owns her own cleaning business and specializes in residential, commercial and vacation properties. The kids are Jase age 2&1/2 and Ryann 6&1/2. Jase is happy (most of the time) and energetic. He absolutely loves trucks and playing in the dirt. He is going through the "mine" phase and wants everything to belong to him. It's hard to deal with sometimes but for the most part he's very easy. Ryann is adventureous and imaginative. She loves riding her bike, catching tadpoles, pretending, hiking and asking everyone questions. She is going through a "tall tale" phase and enjoys telling stories (that may or may not be true).. I typically work Monday & Wednesday with the occasional Tuesday and Thursday.



For Mother's Day Brooks and I decided to put together some family pictures for both of our moms. We rounded up all the girls and took Pictures of Brooks and the girls in front of Stone Cliff gated community. We took my family photos by a big tree at the trailhead by the Dixie Center. It was very last minute and we are so glad my dad had the camera and was so helpful to us. We framed the pictures and gavethem to our moms and they absolutely loved it!




One of my best friends had a birthday party on May 14th and we went to Pirate Island Pizza to celebrate :D




The day after that was Alexis Barnard's baby shower. We bought her some binkies, a changing kit and some sleepy time lotion. I made her some really cute invitations and we had alot of fun spending the afternoon with her and meeting all of her family and friends. She's naming her baby girl Mia Michelle Martinez and she is due July 13th. I made her invitations too :)

My birthday was May 16th and I wanted to do something special with my family so we went out to Sand Hollow Reservoir to swim and go fourwheeling for the afternoon. After that my dad surprised me with an Oreo ice cream cake (my absolute favorite) and they had gotten me a nice camera which I've been using almost every day since.

Amariah is now 3 months old and smiling like its nobody's business!!

The 26th was my little brother Jared's graduation. I can't believe the valedictorian is the kid with the bowl cut from Jared's karate class from years ago! His class was about half the size of mine but with twice the amount of achievements. They had a HUGE honor roll and our old nieghbor Katelyn Lancaster was on it. Jared is such a smart kid. He was the psychology student of the year! He amazes me every time he opens his mouth! I have complete faith in him that he'll do nothing but amazing things in his life. I sure love my brother :) p.s. Amariah happened to have a blowout as Aunt Cinnie was holding her at graduation and lucky me, I got to change her outfit and take care of a huge pile right when my sister runs out of wipees! Good thing I love that baby girl haha!



And lastly, before I close this one up I've been busy digital scrapbooking etc. I love making all kinds of graphics like my background on here and things for friends (see below). I have also made a layout for my grandma's memorial blog- A Mother's Faith ALL of the graphics are by me!








This weekend is Memorial & were planning on spending it out at the Coral Pink sand dunes so I'll have to take tons of pictures to show you :)

Springtime!

Springtime for me means getting ready for summer!

Tanning & treadmill sessions are a must this year.
Hubby bought me a 6time tanning pass for that reason, lol.

My niece is getting bigger every day she is now one month old and I'm loving her more and more every time I see her. I'm planning a photoshoot with a friend of mine this coming week so I'll be sure to post those pictures when I get them back!


I really wish that I had my own place with Brooks so we could plant a garden for spring, maybe next year.....

Brooks is still working at the marriott and I've become very serious and diligent about finding a job, I'm trying to get a job at a daycare here in town.. so far that's coming nicely. Still, money is really a big problem so we're just taking it easy on our spending and trying not to let it bother us so much.

Some people may know that my parents have been having some fairly serious relationship issues and I'm handling it pretty well. Its making all of us siblings grow alot closer and kinda realize the amazing family that we've taken for granted all this time.

So many things in our life are just budding and growing which is so appropriate for spring & I just thought I'd share :)

went to the doctor yesterday

because my tonsillitis was getting out of control. I had it for about 8 days prior to seeing the doctor and had tried treating it at home by gargling hot salt water and hydrogen peroxide to no avail. At about the 5th day it started getting really bad and I realized how serious it was.

It was getting very painful to breathe, swallow and talk.. to the point where I would just cry:(
It was so swollen that I could barely open my mouth to eat anything even when taking 600mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours. The last 3 days that I had it, I was basically starving myself because I just couldn't fit anything in my mouth.

Well I went to my doctor and he checked it out and prescribed me some antibiotics and Lortab then referred me to an ear, nose, and throat doctor.
That doctor told me that I had an abscess in my tonsil which is a complication of tonsillitis. its basically a pocket of pus and bacteria inside or to the side of the tonsil.
It looks like the mouth on the right..
He decided that the best plan of action would be to drain the tonsil.
So he numbed it with a needle.. which stung:(
then poked around to find the pocket.. which hurt because it wasn't fully numbed.
he drained it by collecting the pus in a large syringe.. my mom said it filled about half of the syringe..
finally, he made an "incision" (which is basically code for a huge cut) in order to let the pus drain fully for the next couple days.
After that he let me spit into a dish to get rid of what was in my mouth.. I was lucky enough to snap a picture of it on my phone to show everyone:) its a collection of pus, blood and spit.


so after all of that, I'm just very happy that I got lortab to help me breathe and swallow.
Ibuprofen was just NOT cutting it.
The drainage did help the swelling of my glands on my neck which is nice.
The taste of the pus today is so nauseating and unpleasant. He should have clarified that the pus would be draining into my mouth :/
ITS DISGUSTING.
I go back tomorrow to get it checked out. hopefully it doesn't need to be drained again.

She was born February 25th 2010 at 5:18am.
She was 7 pounds and 10 ounces and 20.5 inches long.

She is officially my new obsession. Its hard to believe you can have so much love for such a tiny thing. She truly is what our family needed in our lives. She is a beautiful blessing and we are so grateful for her:)

I love seeing her as often as I can and just helping my sister out with anything I can. I love burping her and rocking her to sleep, even changing her diaper isn't so bad. I love this little girl so much!!
